Youth & College ministry

Youth and College Ministry invests in the future of SGMC by guiding students in Grades 7–12 and college-age students as they grow in lasting faith and community. We invite you to reach out to Rev. J Nelson, our NextGen Pastor, or a group leader to get connected in these vital faith groups.

Youth Ministry

Students in Grades 7–12 connect in a variety of ways as they grow in faith and community:

  • Wednesday small groups at SGMC church office
  • Weekly Prayer Breakfast (day/place TBD)
  • Monthly fellowship events
  • Church camp and mission projects
  • Sunday morning groups at 9 AM

Our fall schedule will be updated soon. Please reach out to Rev. J Nelson, Next‑Gen Pastor, for current meeting times and details.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES

Something for All Ages

5:30 — 6:30 PM, Starkville Academy

Wednesday nights bring our whole church family together for an hour of discipleship, music, and community. Children, students, and adults meet at the same time and location, each group enjoying meaningful opportunities to grow in faith and fellowship.

Children (Ages 4–6th Grade)

  • Snacks & Bible lesson — a fun, engaging time of learning and connection.
  • Games & fellowship — activities that help children build friendships and enjoy being together.
  • Children’s Choir — led by Dale Phillips; children learn Scripture through music and sing periodically in worship and for homebound members.

Students (Grades 7–12)

  • Bible study — Scripture teaching designed for teens.
  • Small groups — boys’ and girls’ gatherings that encourage connection, conversation, and spiritual growth.

Adults

  • Bible study — led by Pastor Bob Rambo, offering thoughtful teaching and discussion.
  • Pilates class — led by Shannon Skelton, a refreshing mid‑week opportunity to strengthen body and spirit.
