Our Story

When Starkville Global Methodist Church was founded, we envisioned a community rooted in faith, dedicated to loving God, loving people, and making disciples. Our journey has been guided by God's hand, leading us from rented spaces to acquiring 15 acres on Highway 25 South.

As our congregation continues to grow, we are excited to take the next step in our mission. Our capital campaign represents a Spirit-led opportunity to create a permanent place for worship, growth, and service, where we can deepen our faith and strengthen our community bonds. Our new home will serve as a vibrant space where children, youth, and adults can worship, grow in faith, and actively serve our community in the name of Jesus.

We invite you to be part of this transformative journey. Your support will help us establish a lasting home for Starkville Global Methodist Church, ensuring that we can continue to serve and uplift our community for generations to come.

Funding Our Vision

To bring this vision to life, we have established a capital campaign goal of $5 million over three years (2026–2028). With a recommended borrowing capacity of up to $4 million and available cash reserves of $1 million, we are well-positioned to secure the $10 million needed to initiate Phase 1 construction. Your support is crucial in making this dream a reality.

Please check here for construction photos and updates! We know everyone is excited to see the progress, but a construction site isn’t safe for visitors. We’ll keep sharing pictures so you can follow along.

Learn More About Our Capital Campaign

Phase 1 Overview

The first phase of our capital campaign is to embark on an ambitious project to construct a 30,000 sq. ft. facility, designed to serve our community's spiritual and educational needs.

This facility will feature a traditional sanctuary with a choir area, a center aisle, and seating for 420, alongside dedicated ministry areas for children, youth, and adults.

While the entire footprint will be constructed, some interior spaces will be completed as resources allow.

What Our Church Community Says

Open book with red bookmark on a stone, forest background.

When we moved to Starkville four years ago, we knew God had called us here for a specific purpose but we struggled with having to leave our church home. Finding Starkville GMC was the answer to a prayer. The consistent community has deepened our relationships, making this more than a building—it's truly our church family.

George and Amy Taylor

Starkville GMC just feels like home to our family. It's the smiling faces, the people who invest in our children and someone always willing to lend a helping hand. These are “our people,” and we couldn’t ask for a better support system. We can see the Holy Spirit moving in powerful ways, and we are excited to see what the future brings as we work toward a permanent home.

Nathan and Dana Traywick

God has faithfully led us in the formation of this new church based in orthodox Wesleyan tradition. SGMC’s mission is Love God, Love people, Make disciples. Our building will be a place for worship, teaching & fellowship that will equip & form disciples who go into our community & beyond to share the love of Christ, now & in future generations.

Gary and Jane Windham

Starkville GMC has given our family more than a place to gather with others and worship— it has provided our family a place to plant roots. As young adults raising a child, having a permanent church home means stability, community, and a foundation centered around Christ that we can build our family’s future on.

Jordan and Farris Smith

Suzie and I love our Starkville Global Christian Community. We’ve found love, support, and meaningful opportunities to serve. We believe a permanent church home where we can worship and fellowship together aligns with God’s will, and we pray this building will be filled for decades with believers led by the Holy Spirit in mission outreach and evangelism.

Kevin and Suzie Walters

From day one, we’ve shared a hope that our new faith community would flourish for future generations. During this capital campaign to build a permanent home, may we remain bold in faith, open to the Spirit, and sustained by prayer, and may God continue to bless us on our "new journey."
