LOCAL MISSIONS
Angel Tree
Members prayerfully choose tags off the SGMC Angel Tree and select holiday gifts for our 10 adopted families to brighten their Christmas season.
Awakening College Fellowship
ACF is a new college fellowship led by Rev. Hugh Griffth that will launch this fall at Mississippi State University. Starkville GMC has pledged support and will be a "base" for this group that provides experiences for spiritual growth and fellowship for MSU students. SGMC Members serve on the ACF Board and will be seeking assistance from SGMC members as the group organizes.
Backpack Ministries
Donations made to this ministry are used to supply meals in the backpacks of school children that would not otherwise eat over the weekend.
Beds for Kids
Through a special Christmas Eve offering, our members are building beds for kids in our community who do not have beds of their own.
Care Ministries!
Members collect eye glasses, sunglasses, and audio materials to help those who are blind, visually impaired, or have reading disabilities.
Hurricane Relief
Donations were delivered to Hurricane victims in North Carolina.
Meal Trains
A special project provides much-needed meals for SGMC parents with newborns.
Monthly Food Collection
The first Sunday of each month, members bring nonperishable items and snacks meals to help the needy in our community. Donations are being sent to Starkville Strong and Ward Stewart Elementary School.
Second Servings
This initiative centers on leveraging surplus food from nearby restaurants to provide meals for families in need within our community. Assistance is needed in packaging food for pickup dates and monetary donations for supplies, etc.

A Glimpse at Upcoming Missions Opportunities
Delta Grace
This non-profit provides "safe, sanitary and secure housing for the elderly, disabled, and others without means for adequate living conditions in the Delta." The mission assists with home repairs and remodeling to make livable housing. SGMC will provide volunteer labor and financial contributions.
International Student Thanksgiving
Volunteers provide a Thanksgiving meal for international students and others who need a community on this day.
Methodist Senior Services (MMS) Fund
A Mother's Day special collection will be given to this fund that eases the financial burden of elders (of all denominations and faiths) living on one of the twelve MSS campuses.
Mission Trip Scholarship Fund
Funds will be provided to defray expenses for our students and others participating in missions trips.
INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
Operation Christmas Child
Members of all ages donate, pack, and pray for the 100 shoeboxes filled with gifts that "Send Good News and Great Joy" to children around the world through this project sponsored by Samaritan's Purse. Members make handmade items and assemble items throughout the year.
JP Corhern Gospel Ministry in Japan
Financial support for JP Corhern, a Starkville native, and his wife, who are sharing the love of Jesus in Japan.
Habitat for Humanity
Small groups provide meals to student teams working on local houses during spring break.
